The Turn Up Music Guide

1Quick start: your first 10 minutes

1. Open Turn Up Music on your phone, tablet, computer or Meta Quest browser.
2. Enter your date of birth and agree to the Community Guidelines. Adults (18+) get everything; under 18 gets music mode.
3. Pick a station from the list and tap ▶. Tap ☆ to save it to your favorites.
4. Make your look: tap 🧑 My avatar, choose one of 50 characters, an outfit, a hat and glasses, and your name.
5. Tap “VR Lounge” at the top to step into the 3D world. On a phone, drag to look and tap the floor to walk.
6. Save your progress with the 👤 button at the top: create an account with your email address, a passcode and your date of birth (accounts are for adults 18+), and your profile, favorites and settings save by themselves and come back on any device. Write your passcode down, because it cannot be reset.
7. Change worlds with the world buttons. Try the Reggae Dance Hall, Downtown Tokyo or the Space Station.
8. Join the party with 👥 Join the party to meet the other people in that world. Wave, dance, cheer and chat.
9. Turn on your mic 🎤 to talk. People near you hear you louder.
10. Open Turn Up Social (speech-bubble button) to set up your page, follow people and post.
11. Got a headset? Tap Enter VR, put it on, and use the menu on your left wrist.

2Getting started

1. Age check. The first time you open the app it asks for your date of birth. Only “18 or older: yes or no” is saved, never your birthday.
2. Community Guidelines. Read and agree to them (be kind, no hate or harassment, no sexual content, nothing involving minors, no scams).
3. Name and avatar. If you skip this, you get a guest name and a random character. You can change them any time under 🧑 My avatar.
4. Install it (optional). On a phone, use your browser's “Add to Home Screen”. There's also an Android app.

Under 18? You'll be in music mode: every station, podcast and world is still yours to enjoy, but parties, voice chat, the social feed, events and memberships are switched off. See Safety.

3Radio, podcasts & your music

Listen to the radio

1. Scroll the station list or pick a genre (hip-hop, R&B, reggae, pop, metal, yacht rock and more).
2. Tap a station to play it. ⏮ ⏭ skip between stations, and the slider sets the volume.
3. Tap ☆ Save to keep a station in Favorites. Add your own with a stream link in My stations.

Podcasts

1. Open the 🎙 Podcasts tab and search for a show, or pick a suggested one.
2. Tap Follow to keep it, then tap an episode to play. It remembers where you stopped.

Your own music and videos

1. Open 🎵 My media and add songs or videos from your device (they stay on that device).
2. Play a song yourself, put a video on the big screen in the lounge, or load it into the DJ booth.

4Your avatar & look

1. Tap 🧑 My avatar (in the lounge) to open your profile and look.
2. Choose a character (50 to pick from), then your height and glow color.
3. Add a hat, eyewear, a chain or pearls and headphones.
4. Dress up with outfits: solid, stripes and ombré are free. Plus members get every style (kente, galaxy, sequins, camo, leopard and more) and can print their own fabric.
5. Add a short bio, your favorite genre and your Instagram, Spotify or YouTube links. Tap Save.

Bring your own 3D avatar

1. In 🧑 My avatar, tap Upload .glb / .vrm and pick a 3D avatar file, or paste a direct link to a .glb and tap Import. Ready Player Me shut down on Jan 31, 2026, so its links no longer work, but avatar files you saved still do. Avaturn, VRoid, Mixamo and Blender files work too.
2. Your avatar is resized to fit and learns the lounge's dance, walk, talk and sit moves. If it has no skeleton, it sways gently instead. Pick Motion style to choose which set of moves it uses.
3. No file? Tap 🧬 3D Studio: choose a photo of your face and it is wrapped onto a 3D head. Then pick build, hair, clothes and colors, and tap Use as my avatar. Your photo stays on your device.
4. Guests in your party see your 3D avatar if they are adults and have See guests' custom avatars switched on.

Mixed reality and My Empire

1. 🕶 Mixed reality: on a Quest (or an AR phone) tap it, point at the floor and pull the trigger to place the stage in your real room. Press the ☰ on your left wrist, then 🕶 Room to resize, turn or move it, hang the video screen on a real wall (📺 Pin to wall) and dim your room.
2. 👑 My Empire: tap 👑 My empire on the party bar, in the VR menu (Party tab), or the 👑 Empire button at the top of any Mogul screen. On a keyboard press E.

Scavenger hunt

1. Tap 🔎 Scavenger hunt on the party bar (in VR: menu > Party > 🔎 Start the hunt), then Start hunting.
2. Five Golden Records are hidden in every world. Look around and tap one, or walk up to it. The ping gets faster and higher as you get warmer.
3. Stuck? The hunt window lists a clue for each record you haven't found in the world you're in.
4. Each record pays $50 of Nightclub Mogul cash. Finish a world for $250, and find every world to become a 👑 Master Hunter.

Wellness & play: meditation, exercise, dance class, escape room

1. Open 🍾 Nightclub Mogul. Under Wellness & play, pick 🧘 Meditation, 🏋 Exercise, 💃 Dance Class or 🔐 Escape Room, then ▶ Start. You're taken to the matching room.
2. No training and no strikes. Each one raises a need: Calm, Fitness, Fun or Brain, and pays a little cash.
3. Escape Room: the clues are in the room (the painting, the four blinking lamps, the blackboard) and change every game.

🏡 My Home: build, grow and look after your needs

1. Tap 🏡 My Home on the party bar, or pick it in the world list. You get a house, a garden and $400 to decorate on your first visit.
2. Tap 🔨 Build, pick a category and an item, then tap the ground to place it (↻ Turn rotates). Furniture goes anywhere; plants, trees and garden things go outside. 🗑 Remove gives 60% back. In VR: menu > 🏡 Home, pick an item, then point at the ground and pull the trigger.
3. Plants grow while they have water, even when you're away. Tap a plant (or 💧 Water all) to water it. A blue drop means it's thirsty. Tomatoes and apple trees can be harvested for cash.
4. Wildlife moves in as your garden gets richer: bees, butterflies, songbirds, ladybugs, fish, frogs, squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs, fireflies and even a fox. Tap the 🌿 score to see what each one needs. Bees make honey you can sell from the beehive.
5. Your needs (Calm, Fitness, Fun, Brain, Social) slowly drop over time. Use your furniture (nap on the bed, read at the bookshelf, play the piano, run on the treadmill), do the wellness activities, pet your pet, and hang out with people in a party to fill them.
6. The sky follows your real clock: sunrise, day, sunset and a starry night with fireflies.

🕺 Dance-off, 🎵 Music Trivia and fresh questions

1. 🕺 Dance-off: tap it on the party bar (or in Nightclub Mogul under Wellness & play). You and a rival appear on the floor in front of you. Move cards slide toward the ring on the beat: hit ◀ point left, ▲ hands up, ▶ point right, ▼ drop it or 👏 clap (arrow keys and Space on a keyboard) as each card reaches the ring. Perfect, Good or Miss; keep a combo going. Beat your rival's score to win. In VR, do the moves with your arms.
2. 🎵 Music Trivia: eight questions on hip-hop, R&B and soul, jazz, reggae, Afrobeats, Latin music and dance history.
3. The trivia, the escape room and the wellness quizzes draw from large question banks and don't repeat a question until you've seen them all. The escape room's safe puzzle is generated fresh every time.

🪞 Mirrors and pets

1. Walk up to a mirror in the Dance Class Studio, the Exercise Room or your home to see yourself: your avatar, outfit and accessories, moving as you move. Buy more mirrors for your home under 🔨 Build > Furniture.
2. Pets have fur, feathers or scales, blink, breathe, wag and look at you. The fox is a fully animated model.

The controls dashboard

Tap ▲ Controls to open everything as labeled tiles: Party & people, You & help, Music & screens, Games & fun, plus the camera and VR row. ▼ Hide controls tucks it away.

🎯 Trivia Live

1. Tap 🎯 Trivia Live (Controls > Games & fun). Pick a pack (Music Mix, Dance History, Riddles, Fitness or Everything) and tap Play solo, or Host for party to play against everyone in your party on their own devices.
2. Tap the colored tile (▲ ◆ ● ■) with the right answer. Faster correct answers score more (up to 1,000), and answer streaks add a bonus. A scoreboard shows between questions and a podium at the end.
3. Make your own quiz: tap Create a quiz, give it a title, type questions with two to four answers, tick the right one and choose a time limit. Save it, then play it or host it. Friends who play your quiz can tap Save this quiz at the end to keep a copy.

🎤 Karaoke upgrades

1. Eleven public-domain songs, including new ones: Mary Had a Little Lamb, Joyful Joyful (Ode to Joy), Are You Sleeping, London Bridge, Old MacDonald, This Old Man and When the Saints Go Marching In.
2. Pick a Band: Pop, Gospel organ, Hip-hop beat or Acoustic. It plays chords and a bass line that follow the melody.
3. Pitch scoring: turn on your mic and follow the note bars at the bottom of the big screen; your voice shows as blue dots. Your score is mostly about singing in tune.
4. Duets: in a party, choose Duet with and a friend. Gold lines are yours, pink lines are theirs, and green lines are for both of you.
5. The crowd's cheers (including 💡 lighters and 🌹 roses) fill the hype meter, which adds bonus points.

5The VR Lounge & controls

1. Tap VR Lounge at the top of the app. The music keeps playing and shows on the big screen.
2. Pick a world (see the 25 worlds). The first visit to a world takes a few seconds to load.
3. Walk around, sit with the people there, pick things up and pop the glowing orbs.
4. On a headset, tap Enter VR. For AR on a phone, tap AR to put a mini stage on your table.

Graphics quality: 🔋 Battery saver, ⚖️ Standard, 💎 Ultra

Tap the ✨ button (💎 when Ultra is on) in the controls on the right side of the lounge to pick a level:

• 💎 Ultra:
  • extra resolution and smooth, non-jagged edges
  • live shadows from everyone around you
  • razor-sharp textures on floors and walls
  • cinematic color, glow and a soft vignette
  Ultra turns on by itself on strong computers. If your device starts to struggle, it steps back to Standard once and tells you.
• ⚖️ Standard: the usual look, and the default on phones and tablets.
• 🔋 Battery saver: lower resolution and no glow, for the smoothest play on older phones.

In a VR headset the picture stays tuned for smooth, comfortable motion. On a PC headset, Ultra also renders the VR view a little sharper.

Seeing screens and videos clearly

1. Zoom to read signs, see faces or check out details. Looking around slows down while you're zoomed in, so it's easier to aim.
2. Watch up close glides you right in front of a screen so the video or page fills your view, with the menus tucked away. Tap ✕ Back to the room (or press Esc) to go back where you were.
3. On a web page or YouTube screen, tapping the screen takes you up close so you can use the page (its play buttons, links and so on) directly.
4. People and avatars standing in front of a screen now show in front of it, so videos no longer cover their heads.

The first time you open the lounge on a phone, a computer or a headset, a short "How to move around" sheet pops up for that device. You can open it again any time with 🧭.

On phones and tablets, tap Hide controls to minimize the dashboard and see more of the world.

6The 25 worlds

Every world has its own crowd, music spots, a DJ booth and a roped-off VIP section.

7Parties, voice & touch

1. In the lounge, tap 👥 Join the party. The first time, you'll see a short safety note.
2. Everyone else in the same world appears as their avatar with a name tag. Use Join with code for a private party with friends.
3. Use 💃 Dance, 🙌 Cheer, 👋 Wave and the 🔥 ❤️ 😂 🎉 reactions, and type in the chat.
4. Tap 🎤 to talk. Voices come from where people are standing, and a 🔊 shows who's talking.
5. Tap a guest's name or avatar (or touch them in VR) to see their card: View page, Follow, Mute, Hide/Block or 🚩 Report.
6. Leave any time with Leave the party.

8Live events, flyers & invitations

Go to an event

1. Tap the calendar button (📅 Live events) to see what's on, including the weekly featured shows.
2. Tap I'm going or Add to calendar. When it starts, a red LIVE NOW banner appears in the lounge; tap it to join.

Host an event (VIP and up)

1. Open Live events → Host an event. Enter a name, date, time, length, world, music and a description.
2. Tap Publish event. When it starts, you're the DJ: everyone who joins hears your station.

Make a flyer or invitation

1. After publishing (or with 🎨 Make a flyer in the form, or 🎨 Flyer & invites on your event), the flyer maker opens.
2. Choose Flyer or Invitation and a look: Neon Nights, Gold Gala, Retro Sunset or Bold Poster. Choose a size: Post, Story or Square.
3. Edit the headline and details, add a photo, and change the color. For an invitation, add the person's name and a note.
4. Tap Share… (phone), Download, Email, or the X, Facebook, WhatsApp or Text buttons. The QR code opens your event.

9Turn Up Social

1. Tap the speech-bubble button. The 🏠 Feed shows posts from everyone, or from friends and people you follow.
2. Post text, a photo, a link, or 🎵 the song that's on. Like ❤️, reply 💬 and share ↗. Use 🚩 to report a post.
3. Open 👤 My page and tap Edit my page to add a mood, your city, what you're into, a cover color and your Top friends.
4. Tap anyone's name to see their page: their wall, photos, friends and followers. Follow them, or post on their wall.
5. When you follow each other, you're friends. See them all in 👥 Friends, and search everyone in 🔎 Find people.
6. 🔔 Alerts tells you about new followers, likes, replies and wall posts.

Use on another device (same account on your tablet, phone and Quest)

1. On the device you already use: My page → 📱 Use on another device → Make a code for my other device.
2. On the new device: My page → Use on another device, type the 8-character code (like K7Q2-M9XD) and tap I have a code.
3. That's it: same name, avatar, outfit, friends and membership on both. The code works for 10 minutes. Never give it to anyone else.

10DJ booth, screens & camera

1. 🎧 DJ booth (VIP): load stations or your own songs onto two decks, use the crossfader and effects (echo, horn, siren, talk-over), then Go live to the party.
2. 📺 Screens: play YouTube videos or your own videos on the big screens for everyone (VIP), or watch on your own.
3. 📷 Camera: take photos and videos in any world, save them, or share one straight to your wall.

11Nightclub Mogul: work the club, build an empire

Tap 🍾 Mogul on the party bar (or Party → 🍾 Nightclub Mogul in VR). Pick a job, take its free training first, then work real shifts for cash. Spend the cash on clubs of your own. It's 18+ only, like the rest of the social side of the app.

1. Pick a job. Every job has a 🎓 Training shift that walks you through it one step at a time, and pays $50 the first time you finish it.
2. Work a shift. You get paid for good work. Mistakes are strikes (❌), and three strikes ends the shift early.
3. Level up. Every shift earns experience, so later shifts are busier and pay more.
4. Become the owner. Under 👑 Club Owner, buy venues from a basement bar up to a club in orbit. Then add upgrades, hire staff, and press 🌙 Next night to see what each club earns.

Brawl keys on a keyboard: Space blocks, A and D dodge, J punches, K kicks, L slams, T throws and Q drinks.

🏆 Daily rankings: after every real shift, your earnings go on today's leaderboard for that job. It resets every day, so anyone can take the top spot tomorrow.

12Memberships

Open ★ VIP to see the plans. Each plan includes everything in the plans before it.

1. Tap Choose … on a plan and pay on the secure checkout page. Your member ID is attached automatically.
2. Your plan turns on once the payment is confirmed (usually within a day). Tap I've paid, check my membership.

Prices shown are the defaults and can change. Memberships are for adults 18+. Use the same account on all your devices (see Use on another device) so your plan follows you.

13Safety & community

How age protection works

1. Everyone enters a date of birth the first time they open the app. Only “18+: yes or no” is kept, never the birthday.
2. Under 18 gets music mode: radio, podcasts, their own music and the worlds on their own. Parties, voice chat, chat, Turn Up Social, events, flyers and memberships are off.
3. The answer is locked on that device, so it can't simply be retried.
4. Adults only ever see and hear other adults in parties. If you think someone is under 18, report them with “This person may be under 18”.

Your safety tools

1. Mute: tap a guest → Mute (or Mute for me in VR).
2. Block: on their card or page, choose Hide/Block. You won't see, hear or get posts from them. Unblock any time in the 🛡 Safety center.
3. Report: 🚩 on a post, on a guest's card or on their page. Pick a reason and send. The person isn't told who reported them.
4. 🛡 Safety center (shield button): only hear voice from friends, blur photos from strangers, show only friends' wall posts, and manage your blocked list.
5. Leave: you can leave a party, switch worlds or turn off your mic at any time.

Community Guidelines

• Be kind. No harassment, hate speech, threats or bullying.
• No sexual content, and nothing involving anyone under 18, ever.
• No spam, scams, or pretending to be someone else.
• Don't share your address, passwords, sign-in codes or money details. Turn Up Music staff will never ask for them.
• Moderators can mute, remove and block people from parties, and hide posts.

14Troubleshooting & FAQ

15For the owner & moderators

1. Sign in as the owner: ★ VIP → Owner sign-in → paste your private owner code. Never share it or put it in a file.
2. Set prices and payment links for Plus, VIP and Pro under Owner tools (Stripe payment links work best; the buyer's member ID is added to the link).
3. Give a membership: paste the buyer's member ID, pick Plus, VIP, Pro or VIP + Moderator and a length, then tap Give membership.
4. Moderators see a Reports list in the 🛡 Safety center, can hide posts, and can mute or remove guests from any party. Pro members can moderate their own event parties.
5. Underage reports: remove the person from the party and, if needed, hide their posts. Age checks rely on what people enter, so reports from the community matter.
